2 Bedroom House in Corea

Older bay house with new bath down stairs on demand hot water heater, WHOLE HOUSE DEHUMIDIFIER to take any dampness out of house being so close to the bay, also just had the cellar encspulated in plastic so the cellar smells don't come upstairs. A little problem in the past but is rectified now.This older captains house is located in beautiful Corea Maine where you can relax. There are hiking trails, kayaking, sand beach mile from the house, Arcadia national park 4 miles away in winter harbor where you can visit Schoodic Point, next town away. There is also a bayfront snack bar across the street from my Corea house where you can get a fresh brewed coffee or favorite seafood dish. Sitting on their bayfront deck is relaxing and exhilarating.
The downstairs bath has been recently remodeled top to bottom, upstairs bedrooms have new hardwood floors as with the upstairs hallway and downstairs hallway also. New air conditioner was just installed for the hot days which are rare in Corea in master bedroom. If you dont like airconditioner there is a ceiling fan to move the air.
The house has large front deck to relax with picnic table, The house is located diagonally accross from the Corea post office.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay, it was a little further from the main Acadia park but was perfect location for The Schoodic Park. The house served our needs well. Thank you.

Summary: The house was older as described which was fine and the location was lovely. James was an excellent host and the communication was very good. Unfortunately, there was an extremely foul, musty odor throughout the house. Upon arrival I was unsure whether we could stay in the house due to the horrible smell. We had four nights and even though we opened every single window the air quality was barely tolerable. I requested compensation and was told we could stay in the house for free at another time once the problem was rectified. I live on the west coast and was in Corea for a wedding. I do not expect to return to the area. James told me he would inquire about a partial refund but he never got back to me which was very disappointing. I would not recommend this house.

Summary: There’s a problem with a strong mildew smell, unaffected by the provided air purifier. I didn’t complain about this while there, but when I tried to talk to the manager at the end of our stay, he was out of town, with no way to leave a message. Thus 4 stars not 5. I don’t entirely blame the manager, as I didn’t complain until leaving, but I do think a way of communicating needs to be provided at all times. The person who answered the phone said he was unreachable, and refused to take a message.

Summary: The house is as stated, an older farmhouse. Furnishings are basic to support a stay but plan on buying/bringing things like garbage bags, dish soap, toilet paper, etc. The water conditioner system sweats alot so you will see puddles on the kitchen floor. It is worth the puddle though. Garbage pickup....the municipality is very specific so if you plan to produce alot of garbage they only took 2 kitchen garbage bags. Now, that small stuff aside. The house definitely served our needs. The neighborhood is great, and yes, the internet and tv is sparce, but honestly, it gave us a chance to reflect each night on the day, laugh at each other a little more, and relax. So, to wrap this up, if you want to relax, no frills, have a glass of wine on a porch and listen to the ocean roar, the boats earn a family a living, and say hello to some nice people, book it. I would do it again.
